The daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton, who turned ten earlier this month, appears to be focused on a future goal.
As he prepares for his inevitable position as king, the Prince of Wales talked about his little daughter’s developing interests and the ongoing rumors about her royal role in the family.
Olympic middle-distance runner Keely Hodgkinson, 23, was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) by William at the investiture ceremony on Tuesday at Windsor Castle.
The athlete was honored for taking home the gold in the women’s 800-meter event in the previous year’s Olympics in Paris.
Keely later said that the future king had revealed Charlotte’s hidden desire, which may lead to something positive.
“The prince informed me that his daughter was watching me in Paris and that she is currently competing in the 400m and hurdles,” Keely said. “He told me that he wished he could have been there to witness my victory because he remembers it.”
Like her mother, Princess Charlotte has a reputation for being athletic. In addition, Charlotte’s great-aunt Princess Anne, who loves horses, and her aunt Zara Tindall are excellent role models.
William and Kate have been especially worried about what the future holds for Charlotte and her younger brother Prince Louis after Prince Harry’s rift with the royal family about being regarded as the “spare.”
