Desus Good and The Child Mero, the duo behind the Showtime late-night sequence, introduced on Twitter that they are going to be “pursuing separate artistic endeavors transferring ahead” and ending their sequence.

A Showtime spokesperson confirmed the information that “Desus & Mero” wouldn’t be returning for a fifth season. The present’s remaining episode aired June 23.

“Desus Good and The Child Mero have made a reputation for themselves in comedy and within the late-night area as quick-witted cultural commentators,” the assertion from Showtime stated. “All through its run, the sequence received a WGA Award, acquired Critics’ Alternative and TCA Award nominations and scored interviews with President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden, Derek Jeter, Missy Elliott, Denzel Washington, Charlize Theron, David Letterman, Yo-Yo Ma and plenty of extra. The duo, in the meantime, didn’t add any particulars about what their artistic endeavors would entail or about their cut up, saying solely “It has been a superb run, fam.”

On his Twitter account, Desus Good stated he was grateful to Showtime and “the hive” for “being a part of the journey.”

“Large tings quickly come,” he teased.

“Desus & Mero” debuted on Showtime in February 2019 and was the duo’s third sequence collectively. They beforehand had reveals on Complicated TV and Viceland.
