Catherine Zeta-Jones thinks having 4 homes is normal

Catherine Zeta-Jones on having four different homes

Despite having residences in several nations, Catherine Zeta-Jones makes it apparent that she does not consider her lifestyle to be extravagant.

In a recent interview with the Sunday Times, the 55-year-old actress talked about her life with husband Michael Douglas and their four properties—two in New York, one in Canada, and one in Spain.

Zeta-Jones refuted the notion that their real estate holdings are lavish by saying, “I know it sounds very jet set, and I love to surround myself with beauty, but it’s not excessive, it’s very comfortable.”

The Mask of Zorro actress also acknowledged that she indulges in fashion without restraint, while being frugal with her daily expenses.

“I visit every vintage shop in Paris,” she added, adding that she occasionally purchases eye-catching items like capes that she would never wear.

“A pair of jeans is a pair of jeans for me,” she said, drawing a comparison with her perspective on essentials. Buying a white T-shirt for £200? No.

Her daughter, 22-year-old Carys, shares her love of fashion and frequently peruses her mother’s collection, demonstrating her enthusiasm for style.

With designs ranging from denim to pearl to sequins, Zeta-Jones disclosed that she had “probably the biggest Fendi Baguette bag collection.” Her daughter also discovered more of the recognizable purses kept in her mother’s house, she added, laughing.

The Oscar-winning actress also revealed a humorous anecdote about how she and 80-year-old Douglas separate their Academy Awards. Douglas won Best Supporting Actress for Wall Street in 1988, and Zeta-Jones for Chicago in 2003.

She joked that they kept them separately “just in case, you know, there isn’t like hanky-panky going on there,” adding that “Michael’s is in the apartment in New York, and mine is in the country house in New York.”

The pair has been married since November 2000 and has created a life together with their two kids, Carys, 25, and Dylan, while juggling their careers, families, and personal indulgences.
