Britney Spears’ viral night out last week is facing new claims that challenge the initial reports about her behaviour.
The pop star was filmed driving erratically after dining at Red O in Westlake, California, sparking widespread concern among fans and her family.
Early reports suggested Spears had behaved oddly inside the restaurant, allegedly knocking over glasses and making a strange toast before leaving.
However, Oliver Wynn, the restaurant’s general manager who personally attended to Spears that evening, shared a very different version of events.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Wynn said the singer was calm and polite throughout her visit.
“She was super chill and really nice,” he said. “She just kind of hung out, grabbed a bite to eat and left.”
Wynn clarified that Spears was “not intoxicated” and hadn’t ordered any alcohol with her meal, though a fan did purchase her a glass of wine.
“Britney was just chatting with her friend and fans the whole time,” he explained, noting that the pop icon’s visit lasted less than an hour. “They were very chatty.”
According to Wynn, Spears was kind to everyone who approached her, posing for pictures and chatting warmly.
“I was impressed at how nice she actually was,” he added. “I worked at other restaurants frequented by a lot of celebrities, and I’ve never really seen a celebrity be as nice as Britney was.”
Following the incident, Spears appeared to indirectly address the viral driving footage on Instagram.
In a post featuring a picture of Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck hugging, she wrote, “If anyone is wondering the lookalike was not me….” Though she didn’t reference the video directly, her post sparked speculation that she was distancing herself from the event.
Reports later emerged that Spears’ family is deeply worried about her well-being and has been in discussions over how to best support her.
“There’s a lot of concern,” a source told the Daily Mail.
“Everyone has always wanted the best for her, and she’s showing right now that she’s making bad choices.”
The insider added, “It’s terrifying. So there’s a lot of talk about what to do, if anything. How can we protect her from herself.”
The latest controversy comes amid renewed public attention on Spears following her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s memoir, You Thought You Knew, which includes several serious claims about the pop star.
Spears has strongly denied his allegations, with a representative previously stating that Federline is “profiting off her” after her child support payments for their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, ended.
While the footage of Spears’ driving raised eyebrows, Wynn’s account paints a calmer picture of her evening, leaving fans to question what really happened that night.
