SAG Awards 2022: The best look on the silver carpet?It was the twenty-eighth annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, and celebrities like Lady Gaga, Jung Ho-yeon, and Jared Leto walked down the silver carpet dressed to the nines. The show, which is taking place this year at the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles, kicked off the awards season in style. Actors wore bright jewel tones, sparkles, and metallics to show off their best looks.
In a unique twist, the SAG Awards are one of the few awards ceremonies where both movies and TV shows are honored on the same night, and in another unique twist, only the achievements of actors, chosen by their friends, are celebrated.
Stars like Jessica Chastain, Venus Williams, and Sandra Oh used dopamine dressing to stay focused. They wore metallics like disco balls. Oh, how I glistened in a silver ballgown by Carolina Herrera with a deep V-cut neck and ribbon-detailed straps. An emerald green clutch added a little colour to her outfit.
Women’s Choice Award nominee Lady Gaga wore a modern white robe and a rose gold crystal bustier piece. She is nominated for “Home of Gucci.” It took a dramatic floral diamond necklace and frosted silver eyeshadow to get the look that was both simple and elegant. Kerry Washington, who is pictured above, looked like a Hollywood star in a voluminous yellow ballgown by Greek designer Celia Kritharioti, which added a welcome splash of color to the ceremony.
Elle Fanning, star of “The Nice,” wore a sheer white shirt, a satin waistcoat, and a pale pink bowtie in one of her best looks. Her Gucci outfit was finished off with a delicate pink jewel that dangled from her bowtie. She paired her bright pinstriped pants with the jewel.
They also looked good on the carpet, with many of them putting their usual black suits to one side for the event. There were lots of patterned looks from celebrities, like Daveed Diggs. Oscar Isaac mixed mauve and chocolate, and Jared Leto was in a powder blue three-piece swimming suit. As someone who is always willing to take risks, Leto swapped a normal tie for an extra-large velvet ribbon in burgundy. She paired the look with pointed white sneakers.
The actors from “Squid Recreation” were the best-dressed in the competition. Jung and Lee Jung-jae, two new stars of the fashion world, won for best female drama actor and male drama actor, respectively. Jung, who was recently named a Louis Vuitton brand ambassador, wore a black-fitted gown encrusted with tiny crystals. Lee wore a navy suit with an outsized bow tie and black pointed lapels. Kim Joo-ryoung wore a romantic ombre dress, while Anupam Tripathi wore a blue and white swimsuit that was a million miles away from the show’s green tracksuits.
