Anupamaa actor, Gaurav Khanna, who plays the role of ‘Anuj Kapadia’ in the show, is quite popular and enjoys a massive fandom. The actor has often been in the news for having an ongoing rift with his co-star and show’s lead, Rupali Ganguly and now, Gaurav has officially announced that he is no longer a part of the show.

Gaurav Khanna, in no time, became the national heartthrob as he swooned ‘Anupamaa’ off her feet and married her. His character, ‘Anuj’, was the greenest flag of Indian television, and ladies loved him. However, the actor has now broken everyone’s hearts as he announced that he quit the show. Gaurav in an interaction with ETimes shared:

“So, for now, Anuj’s chapter is closed, but I see it as a comma, not a full stop. If the story demands and my schedule allows, I’d be happy to return.”

Gaurav also added that the character of ‘Anuj’ was originally a three-month-long cameo, but it got immense love from the audience and lasted for about three years. He is very thankful to his fans, but everyone should move on to grow in life, and he is doing the same. In Gaurav’s words:

“Anuj was originally planned as a three-month cameo, but it became a defining part of my career, lasting over three years. That kind of love is rare, and I can’t thank my fans for it.”

In the same interview, Gaurav revealed if he quit the show due to Rupali Ganguly. For the unversed, Gaurav and Rupali are rumoured not to get along, and the latter is also said to be the sole reason why Sudhanshu and Madalsa left the show. Gaurav shared that he doesn’t respond to rumours, but he and Rupali have worked together for years, and he has always focused on his craft. He keeps his personal life apart from her professional life. In Gaurav’s words:

“I don’t engage in retaliatory interviews or respond to rumours. What matters is the work we’ve created together. I’ve always focused on my craft, and what happens beyond the ‘action’ and ‘cut’ is secondary.”

For the unversed, Anupamaa fame actor, Gaurav Khanna and Swaragini fame actress, Akanksha Chamola, had tied the knot on November 24, 2016, in a grand ceremony. Their wedding took place in Gaurav’s hometown, Kanpur, and lasted for three days. Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola met at an audition for a TV show. Akanksha was a newcomer, and Gaurav was already working as an actor on some shows. Thinking that Gaurav, too, was a newcomer like her, Akanksha started advising him on acting. After she completed her advice, Gaurav revealed his details, leaving her embarrassed. The two became good friends instantly and, within a year, started dating.
