The Devil Wears Prada 2 is attracting attention as fans and photographers swarm the set to see their favorite characters, and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna is welcoming the excitement.
McKenna expressed her enthusiasm for the enthusiastic reception in an interview with IndieWire, noting that the early buzz only serves to increase the film’s momentum.
Because it’s a fashion film, she added, “people will stand outside just for a glimpse of these actors and these characters that they love because seeing them in wardrobe has really excited people.”
McKenna feels that the sincere enthusiasm from fans surpasses the worries of certain critics about possible spoilers.
“We knew there would be a lot of interest,” she said. Although it’s the world we live in, I hadn’t personally seen this many people come out [to the set]. Compared to 2006, we are speaking to a different world in many respects.
For her, the response stems from something significant.
It comes from a genuine wish to see these characters once more. That people are still interested is an honor, provided that everyone is secure.
The first official images of the movie, which starred Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, were revealed by 20th Century Studios in July. Since then, on-set pictures have gained popularity, particularly outside upscale fashion boutiques where movies have been filmed.
